Hollinshead Scout Group visit Chorley FM

Chorley FM HQ

The Hollinshead Scout Group visited Chorley FM this week as part of their Media badge in radio. The course is funded by Chorley Council which has run for almost 3 years initially to train 23 young people. The course has been so popular with local schools and community groups that we have trained more than double the amount expected

The Scouts took to the airwaves on Monday 13th February on the Mid Morning Show with Barbara Lowe and Michelle Graham who is the Youth Engagement Officer for the forthcoming Chorley Youth Zone.

We also welcomed local lad Ciaran O’Brian who was a contestant on  BBC 1’s “Let It Shine” with Gary Barlow. Ciaran was interviewed by the Scouts asking numerous questions including what it was like to be on the show?

Also in the studio was the Youth Communications officer Jamie Allen from OnSide, the people behind the new Youth Zone which will be due to open next year in Chorley

The studio was rather full when the Scouts District Youth Commissioner came in to be grilled in the hot seat. He was asked about his role and a certain killer question that raised a few giggles

Chorley FM aim to continue to welcome community groups and charitable organisations giving them a voice in their community

A great time was had by all and you can listen to the show below
