MP Lindsay Hoyle and Jamie Carson from Chorley Council look over the plans of the brand new Youth Zone Development on Railway St in Chorley
The site visit was arranged by OnSide Youth Zones the company behind delivering the new Youth Zone in Chorley.
Several local dignitaries, Capital Supporters and Founder Patrons of the Youth Zone attended to see the progress of the building works which now stands on the grounds of the old community centre which was demolished to make way for this very modern building which will serve the Youth of Chorley and house exciting new activities, including a Sports Hall and recreational areas.
Conveniently located near the Bus and Railway Station it’s an easy place to reach for those that live outside town and admission will be very affordable for young people, at just 50p per visit.
Inspire Youth Zone is set to open in April 2018 and upon visiting the site today that is a very realistic timescale.
The weather could not have been worse but we were assured that the waterlogged areas would soon disappear as the roof goes on.
Lindsay Hoyle was very proud of the scheme and welcomed the development to Chorley saying that it will be an amazing opportunity for young people to develop their skills and great for the town in general.
The new Youth Zone will be called “Inspire” and some of the young people already involved gave a speech to Capital Supporters and Founder Patrons at Chorley Town Hall after the tour.
Listen out on Chorley FM for the interviews with some of the people in attendance, including Lindsay Hoyle, Chief Exec Janine Blythe and Chairman Andrew Turner
