Angels Gain New Gazeebo.

Chorley FM HQ

The angels set up at the end of 2013 after leaders Gail and David Forrest decided it was time to leave the St Johns Ambulance unit in Chorley where they both racked up over 15 years each of service to the charity. They both decided it was time to up sticks and leave the charity and create a local group for Chorley. Since the angels have opened they have grown form strength to strength gaining funding from many companies, groups and Councillors for equipment such as defibulators, training aids, qualifications for members. Chorley`s angels community first aid group has successfully gained a grant from Chorley Community Housing alongside several other grants from local councillors and our their in house find raising.  The money was used to buy a gazeebo for events. Group officials decided that in order to provide a better service to our patients and our members having a gazeebo would be perfect, as if our First Aider`s needed to treat a patient in private the gazeebo would be available as well as having a base for event users should they need our assistance they have a nice and clear position to go to.   Sectary David Forrest said “This first aid post can be configured to act as two separate treatment rooms or one treatment room and a dry shelter, the Gazebo style First aid post has been printed with the ‘Chorley’s Angels First Aid’ logo on the roof and ‘First Aid on all four sides for easy recognition by the public at local events.   There is a real buzz in the group, all the members are excited at the way we have not only been accepted but encouraged and promoted within the borough I would dearly like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved. This first aid post is certainly something to be proud of. ”   When The Angels setup back in 2013 their aim was to have events in the Chorley community covered by Chorley people who have the best interests of the local community at heart and will work alongside event organizers to ensure the event’s success. Having a professional image will encourage the Chorley community to accept us and respect us. This first aid post will add to this image allowing the general public to recognise where we are at events throughout the borough and they have now been mentioned at many Athletic events and been recommended to so many organisations and group they are now travelling as far as Blackpool to help at their events as people like the ethos of the group.   [frontpage_news widget=”754″ name=”Chorley FM News”]
