David from Birkacre Garden Centre called in to the Mid-Morning Show on Monday. With the cold winter months about to set in, he gave a live interview and offered our listeners tips and advice.

Although winter is here, did you know that you can still plant bulbs and certain vegetable seeds can be sown in January. David spoke about growing vegetables using other methods. Vegetables can be grown using containers if you don’t have a big enough garden. They taste great and you know where they’ve come from.

It’s also a perfect time to clean, service, sharpen and store your gardening equipment. Doing so will prevent anything from rusting over the winter months and keep your tools in tip top condition.
